Beverley Mine Site Tour - 28 February 2010

Paydirt Media in conjunction with Heathgate Resources are pleased to once again be holding the annual Beverley Uranium mine site tour.  The Beverley Uranium Mine, located 530km north of Adelaide, opened in 2000 and is one of only three operating uranium mines in Australia and is Australia’s only operating In-Situ Recovery Mine. Beverley is licensed to produce up to 1500 tonnes per annum.  Beverley is an in-situ recovery operation and unique in the Australian mining industry. 

A series of wellfields – essentially water bores – pump an oxidizing solution into the orebody which dissolves the uranium minerals before extraction pumps bring the uranium-bearing solution to surface and through PVC piping to plant for treatment.

Delegates will be treated to a full tour of the wellfield and plant as well as receiving presentations on Heathgate’s operations and the environmental impact of in-situ Recovery Mining.
