Ms Smyth has over 30 years experience as a geologist and later as a corporate affairs general manager in the mineral and petroleum industries.

Erica has been a professional company director for the last seven years and is currently the Chairman     of  Toro   Energy   Limited,   Scitech,  ScreenWest    and   the  Diabetes   Research Foundation of WA. She is also a director of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), the RFDS Western Operations and Emeco Holdings Limited.

Erica Smyth has a BSc from UWA and an MSc from McGill University, Canada. In 2008 she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Western Australia and in   2010   the   WA   Chamber   of   Minerals   and   Energy   awarded   her   a   Lifetime   Achievement Award for Women in Resources.
