About the Conference

The uranium renaissance is here and Australia is in the prime position to benefit. While the debate may continue to rage in Australia, for the rest of the world the nuclear question has been answered unanimously as a new generation of safe, dependable nuclear power reactors come online.

Nations with as diverse needs as China, Russia, the United States and Britain have decided an expanded nuclear energy programme is essential to their future power needs. There are currently 440 nuclear power reactors operating in 30 countries, supplying about 15% of the world’s electricity. A further 58 reactors are under construction while there are more than 100 in the planning stage. This means Australia, with up to 40% of the world’s mineable uranium reserves, is ideally placed to benefit from the expected surge in uranium investment. The industry is yet to fully establish itself in Australia but led by the progressive Rann Government in South Australia, there are signs that the country’s uranium sector is about to come of age.

For seven years Paydirt’s Uranium Conference has been at the forefront of the Australian debate on uranium. To be staged at the Adelaide Hilton on 28-29 February 2012, the conference will once again feature the agenda setters for Australia’s uranium debate. Keynote speakers will come from government, industry bodies, academics, miners and explorers and delegates will have the opportunity to listen and speak to those that matter in the uranium industry as well as participate in one of Australia’s most important debates.
